This 1969 Pontiac Firebird coupe is powered by a replacement 400ci V8 linked with a Powerglide two-speed automatic transmission and is finished in black over black vinyl upholstery. Originally finished in Midnight Blue, the car was repainted black under previous ownership and the roof and left side of the car were refinished, due to chips and dents. Features include front and rear spoilers, twin hood scoops, faux hood pins, 400 badging, and chrome rocker panel trim.
The 15″ Rally II-style wheels wear PMD center caps and chrome trim rings and are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires measuring 215/70 up front and 245/60 out back. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench seat trimmed in black vinyl as well as color-coordinated door panels and carpets. The replacement 400ci V8 was installed and was fitted with an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and an HEI distributor Additional work consisted of installing a rebuilt starter and replacing the rear crankshaft pulley, fan clutch, drive belts, oil pressure gauge line, flexplate, spark plugs, ignition switch, ignition wires, and fuel line.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission and a 12-bolt rear axle. An aftermarket dual exhaust system has been installed.
